Living in Vaud

Valeria Harlay

Valeria Harlay, Argentinean by birth, Italian by family, married to a Frenchman, and having two kids born in different countries, living in the beautiful Switzerland.

After visiting over 30 countries and moving more than 10 times in my life, my background is a multicultural melting pot that awakes my interest in intercultural affaires. I’m an independent journalist and author, currently working in communication, integration and culture with multinational companies and Swiss government. I’m living in Switzerland from 2007, where the mixture of the increasing expat population and the local people, coexisting harmoniously while printing their particular character to the area, inspired my work.

My blog is about savouring the plentiful delights of living in Switzerland, its culture and lifestyle, as well as getting to know local artists and personalities. But it’s also about my taste for life. I love to savour the moment, to socialize, to live in the now, and try everything, because, quoting Henry Ford, “Life is a series of experiences, each one of which makes us bigger, even though sometimes it is hard to realize this.”

Is this passion for life, and particularly for living in Switzerland, what I want to share with you trough my articles, pictures, and interviews. I hope you enjoy it and I look forward to hear your comments.

If you want to learn more about the region or need help integrating, I wrote some helpful guides for individuals and families, expatriates and locals, to get immerse into local culture and lifestyle, settle, get a job, find friends, explore, integrate, and enjoy living in this beautiful area. In these books you will found plenty of instructions, addresses, resources, daily life tips, Swiss culture insights, and useful information to make things easier for you when arriving, living, or leaving Vaud. You can buy my books here
